The Cougars have surged into contention for a spot in the coveted North Coast Section Tournament of Champions.   But first, an update on several 18-hole tournaments featuring Campo golfers. Sophomore Baron Szeto continues to outshine everyone as he's posted a number of excellent rounds. Szeto flirted with the leader board at the iconic Meadow Club with a solid 75. He was followed by John Lagomarsino and Ryan Brown, who both carded excellent 82s in mushy conditions.  

The following Monday, Szeto once again led his teammates, and most other golfers, at Diablo Country Club, where he threw down another 75 to narrowly miss placing near the top.  Lagomarsino followed with a solid 83, overcoming the "U.S. Open Height" rough. 

In the head-to-head matches, Campo fell to a much-improved Acalanes team at Rossmoor's Dollar Ranch, despite a stellar even-par performance from Szeto. He was followed by Lagomarsino, Jacob Ryerson, Austin Walker and Andrew Pan.

Szeto sat out the next match, a unique par-3 contest with Alameda at Chuck Corica.  Joe Marinai and Ryerson led their team to victory with 3-over par 30's. Walker, Kimo Okamura and Lucas Nomura rounded out the scoring.

The Cougars followed that up with another victory, this time a DAL matchup with Northgate at their home course Boundary Oak. Marinai carded his season best, a 3-over 39 including an eagle. He was followed by fellow junior Ryerson and senior captain Justin Feldman, who both posted solid rounds of 40. Joey Schmidt contributed a 42, followed by Ryan Brown. 

Finally, Campo gained a measure of revenge over rival Acalanes at Moraga Country Club last Thursday. Szeto led all golfers with an even round of 35. He was followed by juniors Brown and Marinai with scores of 41 and 42 respectively. Lagomarsino and Feldman rounded out the scoring to give the Cougars a much-needed 4-stroke victory.
