CAMPO DIVING

WELCOME TO CAMPOLINDO DIVING

CAMPOLINDO-LAS LOMAS-ACALANES-MIRAMONTE
Four High Schools = One Diving Team

Welcome Divers and Parents

Interested in Participating in CLAM Diving This Spring Season? Read and Follow the Check List Below:

1. Get your  Athletic Registration and Clearance.

Go to your high school website and click on the Athletics Link to find out how to get clearance. This process must be completed before the first practice. The diving coach can’t allow athletes to practice without this process completed and on file. It is mandatory. No exceptions.

2. Send an email to the Parent Volunteer Coordinators and on the Subject Line indicate: Please Add Me to the CLAM Roster.

Once we get your email, you will be added to the CLAM Team Roster and you will be in the loop!  We send team emails using Mail Chimp. Check your spam folder if you are not getting our emails.  Once you are on our email distribution list you will get information about everything: Practice schedule; Meets schedule; How to contribute with a donation to our CLAM diving team; Social events; Season Updates; Etc. It would be ideal if you email us by mid-January.

3IMPORTANTDIVERS DO NOT REGISTER WITH HIGH SCHOOL SWIM TEAMS AND DO NOT PAY SWIM TEAMS DUES.

Although Swim and Dive are set up as one team at each high school, the divers belong to CLAM, not the swim teams.  CLAM Diving functions separately from the swim teams. Our divers train together but compete for their individual high schools at meets and get points for their respective school’s Swim and Dive Teams. DON’T register with your school swim team if you are a diver.  Email Parent Volunteer Coordinators to be added to the CLAM Diving team roster and you will be part of our spring CLAM Diving Team.  That’s right, all it takes to join CLAM diving is an email and the commitment to meet the attendance and other expectations set up by the coach. If you have questions, you can always ask the coach during practice or email the parent volunteers at the email address above.

NOTE: Because divers do not pay Swim Team Dues, divers do not get a swim suit and T-shirt for free. However, divers have a choice to purchase their high school’s swim team suits, T-shirts and other athletic apparel and merchandise (see next item).

4. Swimming Suit Try-On Dates and Purchase

Find out when your high school swim team is having their swim suit and apparel try-on day(s). This is  published on the high school website (swim team link) or sent around in the school’s Weekly Newsletter.  We will not be sending emails about try-on days for each of the four high schools.  Divers are responsible to find this information themselves.  Go to the try-on day(s) scheduled for your high school to find out which suit size fits you and order the suit online (Webstore or where you are instructed to go) by the deadline. Divers have to pay for the swim suit, team T-shirt, and any other apparel items they want to get (see 3. above).  Please note that team suits are not mandatory for divers. If you missed the try on day and don’t want to order and pay for a suit that is expensive and may not fit you, or if you didn’t like the quality and/or price of the swim team suits, don’t worry.  You can dive with an appropriate suit that you purchased someplace else.  If you have questions about appropriate suits for diving, you can ask other divers or the coach once practice stars.

5. Diving Season basic info

Diving team practices are held at the Steve Heaston Aquatic Center at Acalanes High School (1200 Pleasant Hill Rd, Lafayette). The CLAM Diving Coach will send an announcement about the spring 2020 diving practice structure, commitment, and schedule in late January.  Stay tuned for details.

Wishing all of you a fun and successful diving season,

Stephanie Klock and Angelica Zabronsky, CLAM Diving Communication Volunteers
