TEAM PARENTS

      Sally Whipple

LACROSSE BEGINS MONDAY, 2/5/2024!

There will be a parent meeting this Tuesday, January 23rd in the MUR at Campo.  Start time is 6:45 pm and it should last about an hour. If you were unable to attend the virtual meeting the other week, please come to this meeting.

Athletic Clearance-  All players MUST complete their athletic clearance before the first practice on 2/5/24. If it is not completed, they CANNOT participate in practice for insurance reasons.  Athletic Clearance is valid for one year.  Therefore, if your athlete played a fall or winter sport, they are cleared for spring. Get more information on how to complete this by clicking here.

Practice/ Player Evaluations-  Practices and player evaluations begin Monday, February 5th, 3:30 pm at the lower fields.  All practices will be Monday - Friday, 3:30pm on the lower fields until winter sports conclude.  After this time, lacrosse practices will move to the stadium from 7-9pm.  Coach Colin will communicate with boys by text regarding practices.

Carpooling-  Team travel to and from most of our away games will be organized through the team carpool.  This is one of our most needed volunteer jobs.  Anyone driving carpool MUST complete this form and return it to Mrs. S in the school office.  You may also fill out this form and bring it to the team meeting on 1/23 and we will turn it in for you.   All players are required to participate in the carpool and cannot arrange their own travel to the games.

Red vs White Game-  Save the date!  On 2/10/24 at 5 pm, there will be a red vs white game where all team members, Varsity and JV, will play in the stadium.  This will be an extension of evaluations and an opportunity for some pre-season game time.  Parents, please plan on attending.  This game will be used to help train everyone in our important volunteer jobs such as scorekeeper, announcer, videographer etc.    A Sign Up Genius specifically for this night will be sent out in the next week or so.

Shoulder Pads-  Beginning in 2022 all players were required to have shoulder pads that met the NOCSAE performance standard.  If you have pads that were purchased before this time they may not meet the 2022 requirements.  This can result in a 1-minute, non-releasable penalty for every set of non-compliant pads.  Please confirm that your pads meet these requirements.  Click here for more information.

Team Costs-  Campo Lacrosse is self-funding.  We receive no money from the school or district.  Therefore, your contributions make it possible to operate both varsity and JV teams.  Our team is most competitive when they have the coaching and equipment they need.  Your contributions and our additional fundraising campaign help to keep our boys at a strong, competitive level.  More details to come once the webstore link is active.  Thank you in advance for your donations.

Spirit Wear-  There will be an online lacrosse spiritwear store for the team that will be open from 1/29/24- 2/6/24. The store will not be open outside of these times. I will pass along the link when it goes live.  All of the items in the store are OPTIONAL.

Parent Volunteering-  It takes a village…  Volunteer positions need to be filled for each Varsity and JV game and we ask that our families volunteer where they can.  A sign-up genius will follow soon.  Based on the game schedule and the number of families participating, please expect to sign up for 5-6 slots.

Schedule-  We are waiting for the 2024 schedule to be confirmed.  Once it is, we will forward it along.  It will also be posted on the Campo Boys LAX webpage.

Team Photos-  360 Photography will be taking team photos on February 14th at 3:30pm.  More details to follow.

Communications-  Coach Colin will communicate with the boys by text.  The team parent will send a weekly email message to parents.  Remember to continue to check this webpage for updates.

Athletic PE-  Athletic PE is an option for eligible Sophomores and Juniors.  This is something that the student is responsible for initiating and completing.   Find out more details here
